Meet Captain Coopman!

Meet Captain Coopman!

Meet Cooper Shirk, a.k.a. Captain Coopman! In March 2023, Cooper was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma at age 10. For the past year, he has been battling this disease as a true warrior. He has undergone chemo, radiation, and a trial to win his battle. Since day one, Cooper and his beloved parents, Jessie and Brad, and little sister, Charlie, have met this disease and all the chaos it brings head on.

On June 8, 2024, we are meeting for our second annual Cooper’s Troopers 5K in honor of Cooper. We will race and celebrate the end of treatment with Cooper and his family.

Race fees are $25 per person and any age may join. You can run, jog, walk, stroll, bike or scooter (for little kids). All are welcome!

Racers will each receive a tee-shirt designed by Cooper himself!

All proceeds will go to Zayne Reis and Family!

Meet the Reis Family!

Meet the Reis Family!

In November 2023, little Zayne Reis, not even three at the time, was diagnosed with pleuropulmonary blastoma/DICER 1. This brave little warrior started treatment in December 2023 and continues to fight.

The Shirk Family deeply believes in community support and kindness. Understanding the Reis Family’s current situation all to well, they have chosen to donate all race proceeds this year to Zayne Reis and his parents, Megan and Firefighter/Paramedic Zach Reis, to help cover costs incured during Zayne’s treatment.
